I welcome Robert Linkul to the show for our final episode of 2020. Robert is the owner of Be Stronger Fitness and the creator of Training The Older Adult. Robert also shares his thoughts on where the future of the industry may be heading and a call to action for other coaches who are uncertain where to direct their attention next.

I have the great pleasure of welcoming Abby Langer to the show this week to talk about her upcoming book, "Good Food, Bad Diet". I was privy to an advanced copy and if you are already familiar with Abby's work, you'll know it's a great read. If not, we chat about the "core beliefs" section which comes at the beginning. Abby and I discuss the core beliefs that hold people back from realizing their goals when it comes to how they approach nutrition and how it shapes their lives. Her book comes out in January and you can preorder your copy now. This one is HIGHLY recommended!

I welcome Lift The Bar's Head of Education, Gregg Slater, to the show this week. I have been continually impressed by the work Gregg has committed to the Lift The Bar community especially since the virus has affected coaches and their clients across the globe. In this episode, Gregg and I talk about better strategies for a 30-day lockdown program and considerations for how and why to approach exercises to keep from losing ground if you can't access the gym. It would have been nearly impossible to cover the breadth of information Gregg could have discussed. I highly recommend that you check out his work, and more importantly (for the coaches), join the LTB community to see more of what we discussed in this week's show.

This week, I'm doing another client spotlight with the debut of Georgeann Jones and her son, Alec Pinter. Georgeann started with me nearly two years ago and one of our common bonds is having sons with autism. Her son, Alec, recently started training with us as well and this episode is about their experiences and successes as clients of RevFit. We talk about the community here, why it works for both Georgeann and Alec and how the inclusivity and atmosphere has been beneficial not just for the neurotypical but for those with special needs as well.

His coaching has evolved since we last spoke and we touch on if he feels his own weight loss journey of losing 200 pounds gives him an inherent advantage over other coaches, the notion of addictive and triggering foods in the diet and how we've been helping clients navigate the ever changing madness of 2020. It's been a while since I've done a cross-promoted show but this week I wanted to feature my friend and client, Shon Christy, as he premieres his entry into the podcast world. Shon is a local mover-and-shaker in the social media world and we dive into a lot of what makes RevFit tick: from our community to the social media posts, content creation and more. I do hope you'll subscribe to his podcast to learn more about the great work he does. I welcome back two returning guests and two great coaches: Melody Schoenfeld (Episodes #88 and #205) and Chad Landers (Episode #106). As they are both gym owners in the state of California, a state which has been more aggressive than most with lockdowns, I wanted to know more about how they've been reacting to the situation. Both Chad and Melody operate different formats of training and both had to shift their clientele to methods that worked best at the time. Alex Leaf returns to the show this week after a great episode he did last year, featuring wife Briana Theroux (Episode #187). This time, he's here to talk about his new program which he has put together with Briana and Ari Whitten called "The Fat Loss Blueprint". While there are many components to the program itself, I asked Alex specifically about a few areas that I felt don't get enough mention on the show: circadian rhythms, hormesis, hedonic resets, and the nuance between women's fat loss versus men's.
